The building above is the headquarters of the National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century. The 23 room and 5 bath home of Brigadier General George P. Scriven in Dupont Circle was built in 1884.
​
Since its acquisition on May 15, 1957, this Victorian home has been lovingly maintained and furnished with period correct furniture. On August 27, 2013, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places . The house also serves as meeting place, library, and repository for the National Society.
